What is Virtual Bookkeeping?

A much-asked question!

VIRTUAL BOOKKEEPINGREMOTE BOOKKEEPING

Virtual bookkeeping is a form of remote bookkeeping in which an accountant or bookkeeper manages a business's financial records from a remote location using cloud-based software. The virtual bookkeeper and business owner(s) each have real-time access to the financial information from anywhere. The bookkeeper receives records electronically such as bank statements, receipts and invoices. The bookkeeper and business owner communicate via email, phone, or teleconferencing apps such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Remote bookkeeping services can include managing accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll processing and any other services agreed between the bookkeeper and business owner.

Engaging a virtual bookkeeping firm is particularly beneficial for small businesses that don't have the resources to hire an in-house bookkeeper and for businesses that have a geographically dispersed team or remote workforce.
